21 Best Rock Guitarists of All Time: Amazing Axemen

So is this a definitive list that takes everything into account? Probably? Is it more subjective and geared towards my personal taste? Oh, for sure!

For some, I included them because I couldn’t just list the guitarists whose songs I like and therefore they’re in. But, I did the research, surveyed more than a few “Best Of…” lists and came up with a point system (I love math and numbers). The criteria are below.

What Makes A Great Guitarist and who are the best rock guitarists of all time?

What attributes make the most significant rock guitarists stand out from the rest? Is it their swagger or perhaps their proficiency and skill set? Here, we’ll delve into the top 10 characteristics of some of music’s most revered axe-slingers.

After thoroughly evaluating every single one of these guitarists (and more than 30 others), I had to delve a bit deeper into some to accurately score them based on their showmanship and originality.

Praising the Passion for Music of these artists would be unnecessary – you don’t appear on lists of the most renowned rock guitarists if your love for music is lackluster. Nevertheless, all ten receive a perfect score in this regard!
